The Traditional Uganda Experience Tour takes you through Buganda Royal trail and Entanda Cultural Center visit. Proceed to Fort Portal town, the crater lakes region and Rwenzori Mountains, Nshenyi Village located in Ntungamo district, Experience the Batwa tradition and norms in Bwindi forest then proceed to Emburara Farm to break the journey back to Entebbe with the eminent long-horned Ankole and get to mingle with the people and their cattle.

Tour Itinerary of the 10 days Uganda Traditional Experience
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be picked up by a company representative and transferred to Speke Resort Munyonyo for relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 2: Buganda Royal Trail
After breakfast, head out for the Kabaka’s Trail that offers a unique journey through the kingdom of Buganda’s rich heritage. Get a chance to learn about the history of Buganda, as well as to experience an authentic, traditional culture with dance, music, craft making, spiritual healing, story telling, traditional herbal medicines and traditional food preparations. The trail consists of seven cultural sites all within easy reach of Kampala the capital city of Uganda. However, depending on the time, you might visit at least 3 sites.
Kasubi Tombs where the Buganda’s former four kings were buried; Naggalabi Buddo Coronation site Where Buganda’s kings are crowned; Katereke Prison where the Kabaka’s imprisoned and punished law breakers; Wamala King’s Tombs were King Suuna ll was buried, Namasole Kanyange Tombs that hold the remains of Namasole Kanyange, the mother to Kabaka Suuna II, Namasole Baagalayaze Tombs burial grounds for the mother of Kabaka Mwanga, you can get to learn about the traditional music and dance of the Buganda clan. Later head back to the hotel for relaxation. Accommodation and Meals at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Day 3: Entanda in Kijjude Village.
After breakfast, head to Entanda Cultural Center. Activities include: practical classes of cooking food in the traditional way, demonstration of traditional wear, traditional hunting, the ancient courtship musical instrument, tasting of fresh honey, traditional wine processing, bicycle rides in the plantations, bark clothing making, a walk in the forest, games such as netball, football, board games, and skipping of ropes, educative and informative fun-filled talks by the aunties and uncles and then enjoy the traditional dishes as well as a self service buffet of fresh fruits. Head back to Kampala for overnight stay at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Day 4: Kampala – Fort Portal
Early breakfast and then transfer to Fort Portal through the verdant countryside as you pass traditional homesteads and farms. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the large tea plantations. It has some of the most beautiful sceneries and unique environment nature has to offer with numerous crater lakes, hills, mountains, endemic fauna and flora and one of the most beautiful, serene and hospitable people you can find. Day 5: Mountains of the Moon and Crater Lakes Region
After breakfast, head out to the majestic Rwenzori Mountains in its full glory! Have a guided walk in the foothills of the mountains and learn about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic views, have a glimpse of the village life and meet the locals including a traditional witch doctor. Have picnic lunch and thereafter explore the region of the crater lakes. Enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and the stunning views. Take a hike at Lake Nkuruba to encounter different species of primates and birds, and visit the Mahoma Falls. Meet the local people as you walk through their villages, learn about the customs of the Batoro tribe and enjoy the panoramic views. Accommodation and Meals at Dutchess Hotel.
Day 6: Fort portal to Nshenyi Village
After breakfast, transfer to Nshenyi through the beautiful countryside, displaying rich vegetation, landscaped, mountain backdrops and beautiful groups of people along the highway. Accommodation and Meals at Nshenyi Village Farm
Day 7: Milking Cows, Nature Walk and Traditional Music Performance
The morning starts early as you will go to the field to milk the long horned Ankole cows. Return to the farm for breakfast, before we take a short walk to the village of a Bahima tribe and thereafter head for the 45 minute walk to the watering area of the cattle. In the afternoon you may go for a nature walk to the River Kagera, a natural border with Tanzania. A non-professional local group will entertain you in the evening with traditional dancing and singing. Accommodation and Meals at Nshenyi Village.
Day 8: Nshenyi Village – Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in time for late lunch and relaxation. Accommodation and Meals at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge
Day 9: Rushaga Batwa Experience
After breakfast, you will enjoy an incredible day hike in the rain forest with Batwa guides, see how the Batwa lived and hunted, learn about medicinal plants, and watch for animals and birds. You will hear ancient legends and traditional songs, watch energetic dances, and join in on a mock hunting demonstration. You can even test your skill with a Batwa bow and arrow. Visit one of the traditional homesteads to learn more about their way of life. Later, I returned to the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 10: Bwindi Forest – Emburara Farm
Early breakfast and head to Emburara Farm arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, you will get to experience the way of life, culture and norms around the long horned Ankole Cattle. Accommodation and Meals at Emburara Lodge.
Day 11: Emburara Farm – Entebbe Airport for departure
Breakfast and then head back to Entebbe depending on your flight back to you, you will be dropped off for your onward flight back home at the end of the Uganda Traditional Experience.
