3 Days Gorilla Trekking Tour
The 3 Days Gorilla Trekking Tour is a luxury Uganda Safari in Bwindi Impenetrable forest National park. A road drive across from Entebbe to Bwindi would take you about 9-10 hours through magnificent aerial views of beautiful landscape of mountains, hills with cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest and bamboo forest.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one of the most biologically diverse areas on Earth, where half the world’s population of the highly endangered mountain gorillas live in its jungles. The forest is a large primeval forest located in southwestern Uganda in the Kanungu District. It is on the edge of the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift, at altitudes ranging from 1,160 metres (3,810 ft) to 2,607 metres (8,553 ft).

DAY 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park (Buhoma/Rushaga) 10hrs drive
Pick up from place of your overnight stay and head to Bwindi National Park with a stopover at the Equator where you watch the demonstration of water flowing in the northern and southern hemispehere. Have lunch in the calm town of Mbarara and proceed through the verdant countryside. You will pass traditional homesteads and have panoramic views of the surroundings. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs / Lake Mutanda Chameleon Hill (L-D)
DAY 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
After breakfast, transfer to the national park offices where you will be allocated a gorilla family in groups of 8 as well as a gorilla tracking guide.
After a pre-tracking briefing by your guide touching on the gorillas generally, your assigned gorilla family as well as appropriate safety precautions, you drive to the trailhead for the start of a thrilling adventure – participants can expect to walk long distances in steep and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead, which can be challenging, however the thrill of coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla silverback far more than makes up for the effort in their quest. Granted the time taken can be quite unpredictable taking anything from 2 to 8 hrs or longer.
You will have packed lunch from the lodge for this hike. Upon sighting the gorillas, you spend the allowed one hour viewing them . Later head back to the trail head.
Dinner and Overnight at Mahogany Springs / Lake Mutanda Chameleon Hill
Day 3: Bwindi National Park – Kampala 10 hrs drive
Breakfast and you head back to Kampala with lunch en-route arriving in the late evening for a drop off at your place of convenience. Incase you have a flight out this day, you will be transfered to airport for your onward flight.
Travel Tip: You may book a flight from Kihihi or Kisoro to cut the travel distance shorter or if you have a flight on the last day of the tour. Please inform us if you would like a scheduled flight.
