Day 3: Lake Mburo National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park (4 hrs)
Early start of the Discover Uganda & Rwanda Safari day as we will go for a nature walk guided by a ranger. Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. Return for breakfast and then continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park with lunch en route.

Day 4: Lion Experiential Project and Boat cruise
At 6:30 am head for the Lion Experiential Project, a research project that allows visitors to participate in monitoring the pride in the park, using locator devices and learn habituation calls, as well as monitoring weather, surroundings and behaviour.
With the aid of the researchers and equipped with radio-collar-receiving equipment, keep track of the lion prides in the park. Head back to the lodge for relaxation. In the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George.
Thanks to the abundant birdlife that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your Discover Uganda & Rwanda Safari.
Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge (B-L-D)
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Lake Bunyonyi (6 hrs)
Today we will depart the beautiful area of Queen Elizabeth and head to Lake Bunyonyi – gorilla highlands region arriving in time for late lunch and relaxation.

On a 30 minutes ascent on the slopes of Kyabahinga, you will encounter a traditional healer/herbalist who will share secrets of the tropical highland flora. Thereafter have a stopover at the Africa Explorer Cultural Village some 2,300 metres above sea level.
Over a drink, Ianick speaks about many stories of the Bakiga, their traditional beliefs, Rastafarianism and much more. Kyabahinga has got amazing views over most of Lake Bunyonyi, its 29 islands and the distant Muhavura volcano. The last stop is a craft centre with demonstrations on making local crafts and participatory roles as well.
Thereafter descend back heading for the canoes once again to proceed back to the mainland. After lunch, you will relax at the lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in the Volcanoes National Park- Kigali Town ( 3 hrs drive)
After breakfast, head for a pre-tracking briefing by the park warden getting an overview on the gorillas generally, your assigned gorilla family as well as appropriate safety precautions, you drive to the trailhead for the start of a thrilling adventure – participants can expect to walk long distances in steep and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead, which can be challenging, however, the thrill of coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla silverback far more than makes up for the effort in their quest.
Granted the time taken can be quite unpredictable taking anything from 2 to 8 hrs or longer. Later head back to the trailhead, get your tracking certificate and take the last day of the Discover Uganda & Rwanda Safari in Kigali town.
Dinner and overnight at Hotel Mille Collines. (B-L-D)
Day 9: End of Discover Uganda & Rwanda Safari
After breakfast, head to the airport for your onward flight back home. Depending on the time of your flight, you may have a city tour in Kigali.
