Day 1: ARRIVAL (45 mins)
Upon your arrival in Entebbe, you will be picked up by a company representative transferred to your hotel. Dinner and Overnight at The Boma B
Day 2: KAMPALA –MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Today you will be transferred from Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park, a drive of approximately 7 hours, depending on driving conditions. En route visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which was created to help re-introduce rhinos back into protected areas of Uganda have lunch and proceed to your place of overnight stay. Dinner and Overnight at Fort Murchison B-L-D
Day 3: GAME DRIVE & BOAT CRUISE
After breakfast, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park with a game drive in the in the northern bank of the Nile, giving you a greater chance of seeing animals such as giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest and different species of birds.In the afternoon,you have a boat trip on the base of the falls. Look out for the Nile crocodile, hippos, water bucks and a variety of bird species at the bottom of the falls, an amazing scenic view of the Nile awaits you, get off at the bottom of the falls and hike to the top of falls where your guide will meet you at the top of the falls. Day 4: MURCHISON FALLS – FORTPORTAL
After breakfast, head to Fort Portal. Look out for black-and-white colobus monkeys, baboons and more primates hiding in trees along the road. You will have lunch in Fort Portal Town, this area is famed for the fabled Mountains of the Moon and many tea plantations. From this lovely town, we will continue to Kibale National Park for a stay within the tropical forest. Dinner and Overnight at Turaco Treetops B-L-D
Day 5: KIBALE FOREST & BIGODI SWAMP
Breakfast at 6:00am head to the park arriving in time for a briefing session at 7:30am at the park headquarters which is a 10 minutes’ stroll from the lodge. . Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. Upon sighting the chimpanzees, you will stay with them for one unforgettable hour as they continue their daily routine. After lunch at the primate lodge you will transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for a 2 hours’ nature walk- a home of 200 bird species including the Papyrus Gonolek and the Great Blue Turaco. The Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Dinner and Overnight at Turaco Treetops B-L-D
Day 6: KIBALE FOREST – QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for lunch at the camp. Later in the evening, you will have an evening game drive in the park in search of the first wildlife, including warthogs, buffaloes, waterbucks and elephants. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge. (B-L-D)
Day 7: GAME DRIVE & BOAT CRUISE
Get up early and spend an adventurous morning on the Kasenyi plains in search of Uganda’s indigenous wildlife. These include lion, elephant, buffalo and antelope to name but a few. The scenic splendour of Queen Elizabeth National Park offers the perfect backdrop to your big game experience.
After lunch, take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the abundant birdlife that is sighted, and the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Dinner and overnight at Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge. B-L-D
DAY 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH – BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we drive through a verdant countryside, you will pass traditional homesteads and enjoy panoramic views with picnic lunch / lunch en-route arriving in Bwindi National Park, home of the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and Overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge B-L-D
Day 9: GORILLA TREKKING
After breakfast, transfer to the national park offices where you will be allocated a gorilla family in groups of 8 as well as a gorilla tracking guide.
After a pre-tracking briefing by your guide touching on the gorillas generally, your assigned gorilla family as well as appropriate safety precautions, you drive to the trailhead for the start of a thrilling adventure – participants can expect to walk long distances in steep and sometimes muddy conditions with rain overhead, which can be challenging, however the thrill of coming face to face with a giant Mountain Gorilla silverback far more than makes up for the effort in their quest. Granted the time taken can be quite unpredictable taking anything from 2 to 8 hrs or longer.
You will have packed lunch from the lodge for this hike. Upon sighting the gorillas, you spend the allowed one hour with them as they go about their daily life; feeding, moving, playing, raising their young and sometimes wrestling by the juveniles – it is a totally unique and unforgettable experience!
You hike back to base from where you will be transferred back to the lodge for a well-deserved shower, some time to relax and a great dinner. Dinner and Overnight at Option at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge B-L-D
Day 10: BWINDI PARK – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we depart the impenetrable forest of Bwindi and head to Lake Mburo National Park. As we enter the park it is likely that you will spot some wildlife. After checking in you will go on a boat ride on the lake to view the rich bird life and many hippos that are cooling off After early dinner, head out for a 2-hour night game drive in the park. Look out for White tailed mongoose, elusive leopards, spotted hyenas among others, later return to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Rwakobo Rock (B-L-D)
Day 11: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – ENTEBBE
Early start of the day as we will go for a safari walk guided by a ranger. Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. Return the lodge for breakfast and with a game drive on our way out we depart the protected area and drive back to Entebbe. Dinner and Overnight at the Boma B-L-D
Day 12: DEPARTURE
After breakfast spend some relaxing in Entebbe depending on your flight departures, have lunch and continue to Entebbe Airport for your international flight. (B-L)
