9 days Tanzania Classic Northern Circuit Tour
The 9 days Tanzania Classic Northern Circuit Tour begins with hiking on the foothills of Mount Meru in Arusha National Park to catch the park view after which the next day, you’ll drive to Mtowambu for a guided work tour. Mtowambu is small but very busy town where people from all 120 tribes of Tanzania interact with one another. And then you’ll take an afternoon game drive through Lake Manyara National Park and meet the highest concentration of monkey in north Tanzania. You will also have opportunity to see giraffes, elephants, hippos impalas and lots of birds in Manyara.
Halfway through the 9 Days Safari Arusha, Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire safari, on the fourth day you visit Serengeti National Park for another adventurous game drive with picnic lunch. Serengeti is the park with the largest concentration of big mammals in the world. You will be looking for elephants, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, buffalos and many more. The central Serengeti is also the best place to see the rare leopards and other big cats.
After 2 Days in Serengeti National Park, your guide drives you up to Ngorongoro Crater for another adventurous safari day. Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area (NCCA) is one of the largest volcanic craters in the world. This park features rolling plains, lakes, craters, mountains and dormant volcanoes have a game drive with picnic lunch. This will be the best place for you to see the endangered black rhino (less than 800 black rhinos remain in the wild on earth. You will also see pink flamingos in the lake and many more animals.
The 9 Days Safari Arusha, Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire safari ends with an exploration of lake Eyasi and Tarangire National Park. Here you will have opportunity to see big groups of elephants wallowing in the Tarangire river, that will give you a unique sighting to end up your tour.
Tour Itinerary for the 9 days Tanzania Classic Northern Circuit Tour
DAY 1: Arrival in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport and continue to Arusha, check in at The African Tulip for relaxation and overnight.
DAY 2: Arusha National Park
After breakfast drive to Arusha National Park where you head out on an easy walking safari with an armed ranger. Walk through open plains and the lower slopes of Mt. Meru over to waterfalls. Get a different perspective of viewing wildlife from the ground level. There are also good chances of seeing black and white Colobus monkey. Continue with afternoon game drives before heading back. Dinner and Overnight at African Tulip B-L-D
DAY 3: Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park arriving in time for lunch. This park has the highest concentration of monkey in north Tanzania and is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park), located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos baboons, vervet monkeys, impalas, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, giraffes and buffaloes. Thereafter proceed to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and Overnight Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp B-L-D.
DAY 4: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park arriving in time for lunch. Later you will head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park attracting vast amounts of Leopards and the big cats. Look out for elephants, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, buffalos and many more. Dinner and Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge B-L-D
Day 5: Serengeti – Game drives
After breakfast, head for game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, a great option for viewing lions, gazelles, topis, ostrich’s and cheetah sightings. Enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch before heading to the Kopjes Circuit, around the Maasai Kopjes, that usually attract a number of lions and some formidably large cobras.
Optional: Early morning head out for a Balloon flight. View the Serengeti plains from a hot air balloon followed by champagne breakfast on the landing site.
DAY 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area (NCCA) which is one of the largest volcanic craters in the world. This park features rolling plains, lakes, craters, mountains and dormant volcanoes have a game drive with picnic lunch. This will be the best place for you to see the endangered black rhino almost half of what can still be found in East Africa. There are 25,000 large mammals residing in the park amongst which are elephants mainly bulls, females stay out of the park due to it boasting the largest predator population in Africa. DAY 7: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi
After breakfast drive to Lake Eyasi for a community interaction with the hunting bushmen, the Hadzabe. This is the only tribe in Tanzania that its life fully depending on hunting and gathering and the Datoga Tribe (pastoralists). You will have a picnic lunch in between the visit. Later proceed to Lake Eyasi for relaxation. Dinner and Overnight at Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge
DAY 8: Lake Eyasi – Tarangire National Park- Arusha
After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. The Tarangire National Park is famed for the largest elephant herds in Africa. And home to three rare species of animals – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx and Ashy Starlings. After lunch depart the park heading back to Arusha. Dinner and Overnight at African Tulip
DAY 9: Departure
After breakfast explore Arusha town Museum then lunch before setting off for Kilimanjaro Airport at the end of the 9 days Tanzania Classic Northern Circuit Tour for your departure flight back home B-L
