Start your Kenya Great Migration Tour and drive north to Samburu Game Reserve. Upon arrival in Samburu enjoy a short game en route to your Samburu safari lodge located right inside the park.  Accommodation and Meals at  Sasaab Samburu B-L-D

Day 3: Samburu – Game drives

After breakfast, spend this full day of the Kenya Great Migration Tour on game drives in the Samburu Game Reserve which lies in the semi-arid northern part of Kenya. The Uaso Nyiro River that flows through the reserve is the lifeline of this dry bush country. Some endemic animals found here are found nowhere else on our tour circuit.

These are commonly referred to as the Samburu Special Five – Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, Reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk, and the Beisa Oryx. Along the river, marked by Doum palms, we may find lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and crocodiles among others. Samburu is the home of Kamuniak, the famous lioness that adopted a baby Oryx some years back. Accommodation and meals at Sasaab Samburu

Day 4: Samburu – Aberdares ‘Tree’ Lodge

Breakfast and then check out and drive towards Mount Kenya as you enjoy good views of the majestic mountain. A boat trip to this lake offers a good opportunity to see some of the numerous water birds and other creatures that thrive in this salty water habitat. Lake Oloiden was formerly part of Lake Naivasha but it is now separated from its southwest shore by a stretch of elevated land and the two lakes are about 200 meters apart.  Accommodation and meals at Loidia House

Day 6: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara

Leave after breakfast for the Masai Mara, the park features wild and rugged landscapes consisting of rolling hills, sprawling savannahs and rivers, warm and welcoming people, and an exciting array of creatures – the big 5.  Passing through the Great Rift Valley’s floors and western escarpments, created over the centuries due to the natural shifting of the earth’s tectonic plates, you will arrive at the Masai Mara National Reserve in time for relaxation and lunch.  You will proceed for a game safari in the park later in the evening in the African wilderness.  Accommodation at &Beyond Bateleur Camp

You will have a picnic lunch in between the game safari session. Maasai Mara teems with other fascinating wild animal species: giraffes, zebras, hippos, baboons, wildebeests, warthogs, gazelles, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.  You will also pay a visit to a Maasai village for the chance to meet locals and perhaps buy handmade souvenirs. Later head back to the lodge. Accommodation and meals at &Beyond Bateleur Camp
